Toyota Intelligent Transport Systems allow Vehicles to Communicate with environment!

Toyota demonstrated nowadays its latest advances in vehicle-infrastructure cooperative systems, which use Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) technologies to enable communication amidst cars and elements of their environment in an effort to reduce collisions. The cooperative systems, presented at a media event at TMC’s Higashi Fuji Technical Center, manufacture road-to-vehicle,

vehicle-to-vehicle and pedestrian-to-vehicle data exchange possible, resulting in audio and visual warnings to drivers when a collision is probable.

After further development, these systems—which can even reduce vehicle speed, whether needed—are expected to reduce the number of traffic accidents that are difficult to prevent with conventional safety devices.
