Jailbreak 1.1.3 for iPhone, iTouch completed, public release delayed

Even though they said it couldn’t be done, the resourceful folks in the iPhone development community have done it again with a fully jailbroken version of Apple’s 1.1.3 firmware for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Unfortunately, the developers responsible for the hack have announced that they will be holding off the release of the new jailbreak for now.

According to Pedgie06 from the MacRumors forums, the new jailbreak won’t be available until Apple releases the software development kit (SDK) that February. that is probably to

avoid any future patches which will nerf the recently developed jailbreak.

The new jailbreak method is reported to be rather complex as well since it requires some hardware modifications to be done just to get it working.

If you don’t believe us, you can take a look below at the video of a jailbroken iPod Touch running on firmware 1.1.3. It even shows the corresponding Installer.app for the jailbreak. Either way, society can expect the jailbreak application to reach soon.
