Not every camcorder makes it easy for you to output your birthday video to your TV, and if you need some help, perhaps I-O Data’s new 500GB HDPN-U500/V portable hard drive might be of assistance. The drive is able to pull the video off compatible Sanyo Xacti, JVC Everio, and Sony Handycam camcorders and output it via an HDMI port directly to your TV. Aside from the video playback feature, it can function just like your regular external hard drive and has a shock resistant design thrown in for good luck. It’ll be released in Japan next month for ¥15,330 ($180).
